Dim sum traces its roots to southern China, where it emerged centuries ago as small bites served alongside tea to travelers along the Silk Road. Over time, especially in Guangdong and Hong Kong, it evolved into a refined culinary tradition known as yum cha—“drinking tea”—where families and friends gather to share a wide variety of dumplings, buns, and small plates. Today, dim sum blends deep regional heritage with modern creativity, remaining a symbol of hospitality, craftsmanship, and communal dining.

Founded in 2009 in Alhambra, Lunasia Dim Sum House began with a simple idea: to honor the traditions of Cantonese cuisine while presenting dim sum in a fresh, modern way. By focusing on quality ingredients, generous portions, and thoughtful hospitality, Lunasia quickly became a beloved and award winning gathering place for families and friends across Southern California. 

As we grew, so did our vision. We aimed to create an experience that feels both refined and welcoming. Lunasia Signature represents the next chapter of that journey: an elevated expression of our roots, where timeless Cantonese flavors, contemporary presentation, and warm service come together to celebrate the art of sharing a meal.
